October, Erin Daniel, a senior at Ottawa Township High School, is the October Musician of the Month, sponsored by Carlson Auto Body and Salt Tree Yoga. OHS Musician of the Month Erin is a 4-year member of the Ottawa Township High School Choir program, being a member of Concert Choir all 3 years possible. She is also a 4-year member of the OTHS vocal jazz program. Erin is also a 4-year member of the Ottawa Township High School Band program on flute and a multi-year member of the Wind Ensemble at OTHS. This year, she serves as both band and choir president and is one of this year's Drum Majors in band as well. Erin so far has been a 3-year ILMEA District 2 Jazz Choir musician and 2-year member of the ILMEA District 2 Choir. As a freshman, she achieved the ILMEA District 2 Jr. Band. She is a 2 year All State Musician and has been able to advance to the Honor's All-State Choir as a sophomore and the All-State Jazz Choir as a junior. She has been very involved with the IHSA Solo and Ensemble contest, taking various solos and ensembles on voice, flute, and piano. She has received 30 division 1 superior ratings so far in her time at Ottawa. Erin is involved in other things at OTHS including the Drama Program and has also been recognized as a 2019 Mad Hatter Ball Honoree and the 2020 IVSO Concerto Competition Runner-Up. She also maintains a 3.8 GPA. Outside of School, Erin is involved in her church choir and enjoys hanging out with her friends as well as cooking and baking. She also takes voice lessons from Keisha Sanders and piano lessons from Marliynn Kuhn.
